This is a very comprehensive book teaching just about everything you need to know about Adobe Illustrator, but I would start with the earlier books first to really learn the basics.

But I already have the version of Illustrator, and this book is for the version. They have made many improvements to the program. I really like this book. Tells you how to use illustrator and gives you instructions on how to perform the tasks in which you use your code to download the lessons at peachpit. Worthy comprehensive review of Illustrator, written by the designers behind the program. Step by step instructions make for an easier understanding of the software. The embedded videos alone make this product is a \”must have\”.

Lesson times are a little misleading, but that could be me, I have found that they take about 3 times as long but that is with reading time included.

However I cant say that I have been distracted by that fact. The instructions themselves are good but now and then some could use a little further explanation but with patience you get there in the end. On the other hand there are also many variations discussed and tested which I found personally to much information now and then. Regardless it has put me on the right track and even though I have only finished half of the project to date I have already managed to put together some prototype artwork for my boardgames.

Very clear and easy to follow in the classroom format. Very helpful to learn illustrator thoroughly, covers everything from scratch. But lessons took at least three times longer than stated. Most lessons are stated as taking 45 minutes or 1 hour. They all took me considerably longer and I had already taken an illustrator evening course. It\’s not that they\’re too tricky, it\’s just working your way through the pages of a lesson takes longer than the author thinks it does.
