You had to restart the computer to get to the desktop. I am not sure that this is what made the fast startup option appear, but it\’s worth a shot.

I only started to have this issue since this week. When do you first notice it? Anyone else have any ideas? Nothing worked for me either so far. Boot options are clear. Normal startup selected. Password box disappears after computer wakes up from sleep or even after just coming back to it after a while when I disabled sleep.
