Anyway I upgraded to win 10 years ago but could not get it to go beyond I finally reformatted the boot drive and tried a clean install of 21h from a usb. Now I got nothing. It will not complete the install. It craps out with a hardware error. My battery a replacement that lasted a very short time is dead. I believe I am on firmware a12 I think I went up from a Finally, if I ever get this thing running again will I ever be able to use the laptop display plus an hdmi display and a display port display as I was able to with windows 7???

Sometimes you need to flash a different vBIOS depending on the card manufacturer. Most of the time it will work fine. Now I\’m looking at the GTX m, the one that you\’re running in your xr3. I won\’t be able to flash until I get a battery replacement.

I can certainly download the program to prevent Windows from installing the device specific driver via Windows update in the future. I can then uninstall the driver on the system – there is no rollback available – knowing it wont auto re-install. Thank you for your prompt response. There is a known issue between Windows 10 and AMD Radeon graphic cards and our team is already aware of this. Since there is no rollback option available, we suggest that you check the reply of ErwinJames San on this thread and perform the troubleshooting steps given.

Unfortunately my error is entirely different to the one you linked to in your post. It relates to freezing as a result of the drivers, not an issue with multiple monitors. I then rebooted the computer. While this device is considered as being installed I don\’t get the machine freezing. It runs smoothly – as long as I don\’t actually want to use it for any form of even basic 3D-based gaming.

I have used the troubleshooter to force the system to remain on these year old drivers – however this doesn\’t fix the issue. We appreciate the steps that you\’ve provided. We understand that the AMD Crimson package works better than the generic VGA driver, especially with 3D based gaming and advanced applications that requires high end graphic drivers. We recommend that you use the AMD Crimson package for the mean time as we\’ve already reported this concern to our developers.
